The programmes vary in length based on the requirements, prior learning, and experience, with more information listed below on each programme. On completion of these apprenticeships you will receive an apprenticeship qualification - which can lead to registration with either The Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) or Chartered Management Institute (CMI). 

Team Leader or Supervisor Level 3 

Suitable for: Colleagues who are new or have limited experience in supervision and management. This programme aims to prepare colleagues to take ownership of their management role, and to build their knowledge, skills and confidence. 

Achievements and Accreditation:

  • Team Leader or Supervisor Level 3 Apprenticeship
  • On completion, apprentices may choose to register as Associate Members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of leadership and management, to support their professional career development and progression

Approximate Duration: 15 - 18 Months

Associate Project Manager Level 4 

Suitable for: People who manage project work, including those responsible or working in the project management office. 

Achievements and Accreditation:

  • Association for Project Management - Project Management Qualification.
  • Associate Project Manager Level 4 apprenticeship. 
  • Apprentices will be eligible for progression to associate membership upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Approximate Duration: 18 – 24 Months 

Operations or Departmental Manager Level 5 

Suitable for: Managers leading teams and projects who want to develop their knowledge and skills, or looking to move into a more senior management role.

Achievements and Accreditation:

  • Operations or Departmental Manager Level 5 apprenticeship.
  • On completion, apprentices can register as full members with the Chartered management institute and/or the Institute of leadership and management, and those with 3 years’ of management experience can apply for Chartered manager status through the CMI.

Option to add on a CMI or ILM level 5 diploma (this is typically funded outside the levy)

Approximate Duration: 24 - 30 Months 

Start Date: September 2023 

Chartered Manager Degree Level 6 

Suitable for: Managers who have responsibility for long-term organisational success, managing people, projects, operations or services. 

Achievements and Accreditation:

  • Degree in management and business [either BA (Hons); BSc (Hons) or BBA (Hons)] and also have the option to be assessed for Chartered Manager status.
  • Successful apprentices will have the option to apply for professional recognition as Chartered Managers and Members of the Chartered Management Institute (CMgr MCMI) and/or as a member of the Institute for Leadership & Management    

Approximate Duration: 40 – 48 Months

Suitable for: Leaders who have senior management responsibility. 

Achievements and Accreditation: 

  • Senior Leader Apprenticeship Level 7
  • Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management from the Chartered Management Institute
  • Chartered Management Institute for Chartered Manager or Chartered Fellow individual member grade or the Institute of Leadership for Management for Fellow member grade 

Option to add on a Masters of Business Administration MBA or Executive Leadership MSc (this is typically funded outside the levy)

Approximate Duration: 24-27 Months
